This device (ICOM PLUS) has a new WiFi module (Wi-Fi hotspot) and an external WIFI antenna.
The standard stock ICOM has WiFi connection problems. To work on WiFi, you need a laptop with the “aWi-Fi hotspot” function. Modern laptops do not have Wi-Fi hotspot function.
“ICOM +” has a new WiFi module. It does not require a laptop to have the Wi-Fi hotspot function to work via WiFi. You can use any laptop and any operating system.
“ICOM+” creates its own network. You just need to connect to the network “ICOM_BMW”, with the password “12345678”.
ICOM PLUS has a much more stable Wi-Fi connection than the regular ICOM.
BMW ICOM NEXT PLUS supports all functions of the dealer software:
- Reading and resetting diagnostic trouble codes (DTC);
- Displaying diagnostic parameters on the computer screen in real time
- Saving and playing back freeze frames of vehicle diagnostic reports
- Testing and adapting actuators
- Programming or initializing electronic control units
